The Bristol Family Justice Chambers is committed to providing its services at a maximum fee for the whole case (not per hearing) of £2250.00 for  domestic violence and private children cases, and £5250.00 for financial cases, plus court and process server fees (as applicable).

All fees must be paid once there has been initial telephone advice, a face to face meeting and the completion of the first piece of written work. Until these have been done you may withdraw without any financial obligation, but if you decide to formally instruct at that stage then the full fee is payable at that time. Please look at the “letter of engagement” link in the above menu for details of this and other terms of the contract between us. If, having looked at your referral, we decide to act for you and you wish to instruct us to do so, then the “letter of engagement” is the contract that you will need to sign and send to us with your advance payment.

*** Court and Process Server Fees

We will inform you of these costs, but as a guide the current court fees for issuing an application for a domestic violence injunction is nil  for an order relating to children £215.00, and for financial matters £255.00.

In domestic violence cases there is often the need to serve court orders and other documentation personally on the other party. A private process server will charge £90.00 for doing so.

Please note that if you are in receipt of state benefits you will be exempt from court fees
